On being violent

Is there a right moment for being violent? Is violence a viable way to peace?

Mahatma Gandhi supposedly said: “It is better to be violent, if there is violence in our hearts, than to put on the cloak of nonviolence to cover impotence.”

Isn’t this more about authenticity, than about violence? And isn’t this equally about calming the violence in the heart, than to put it into the sheeps coat?
